The Connection Between Blood Clots and Stroke
In my latest research, I've learned that there's a significant link between blood clots and strokes. When a blood clot blocks an artery, it can prevent blood flow to the brain, leading to a stroke, known as an ischemic stroke. Alternatively, a stroke can also occur when a blood clot forms in the brain's blood vessels, causing a hemorrhagic stroke. The risk of both types of stroke is increased by factors like high blood pressure, smoking, and diabetes. It's crucial to understand this connection as early detection can significantly improve stroke outcomes.
